The Neocatechumenal Way was born in Madrid, Spain, in the early 1960s. The initiators of the Neocatechumenal Way are Francisco (Kiko) Argüello, Carmen Hernández and Fr. Mario Pezzi.
The Neocatechumenal Way was later welcomed into the Archdiocese of Singapore by the late Archbishop Gregory Yong in 1977.
Today, there are 11 communities, present in 6 parishes (St Bernadette, St Francis of Assisi,
Holy Trinity, St. Anthony, Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Our Lady Queen of Peace).
